Three Department of Population and Public Health Sciences faculty members were recently named to the annual Clarivate (formerly Thomson Reuters) list of highly cited researchers, recognizing them as among the leading researchers in the world.

To make the list, researchers must have authored the top 1 percent of articles that are cited most frequently for their field over the past decade. (The 2018 list is based on citations between 2006 and 2016.)

Nine researchers from the Keck School of Medicine of USC made the list. Former chair of the Department of Population and Public Health Sciences Jonathan Samet, MD, MS, also made the list; he is now dean of the Colorado School of Public Health.
